国際卓球連盟（ITTF）会長によるセッションでは、卓球界の未来と、スポーツイベントが果たすべき社会的責任について語られました。
冒頭、会長は張本智和選手をはじめとする「ライジングスター（若手有望株）」の台頭を高く評価。世界トップ選手が互いに実力を認め合う現状を歓迎しつつ、今後は「エンターテインメント性」と「アスリートファースト」を両立させ、選手が「また来たい」と思える環境作りを徹底すると述べました。
In this session, the President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) discussed the future of the table tennis world and the social responsibilities that sports events should fulfill.
The President began by highly praising the emergence of “rising stars,” such as Tomokazu Harimoto. While welcoming the current climate where world-class players respect one another’s talents, she stated that the ITTF will strictly focus on creating an environment where players “want to return” by balancing entertainment value with an “athlete-first” philosophy.
特に注目を集めたのが、具体的なサステナビリティ戦略です。「環境対策は次世代への責任」という信念のもと、ペットボトルのエネルギー化や、廃棄物を公式グッズ（箸など）やトロフィーへ再利用するアップサイクル、さらには地元人材の活用による移動負荷の軽減など、多角的なアプローチを紹介。
福岡での実績をベースに、「2028年には他競技のモデルとなる大会を実現したい」と掲げ、スポーツを通じて社会課題解決に取り組むITTFの先進的なビジョンが示されました。
The session drew particular attention to specific sustainability strategies. Based on the belief that “environmental measures are a responsibility to the next generation,” a multi-faceted approach was introduced. This includes converting plastic bottles into energy, upcycling waste into official merchandise (such as chopsticks) and trophies, and reducing the environmental burden of travel by utilizing local human resources.
Building on the successful track record in Fukuoka, the President gave aspiration in setting a goal to “realize an event by 2028 that serves as a model for other sporting disciplines.” This session highlighted the ITTF’s progressive vision of addressing social issues through the power of sport.
