本日よりミラノ中心地に位置するSpazio Illumiにて福岡ハウスがオープン致しました。記念すべき初日は、元Volleyball WorldマーケティングディレクターのMattさん、ビリー・ジーン・キングス・カップ(テニス)のKerstin会長の2名のゲストをお迎えし、ランチミーティングとプレゼンテーションセッションを実施致しました。
Starting today, Fukuoka House has officially opened at Spazio Illumi, located in central Milan.On this memorable first day, we welcomed two guests—Mr. Matt, former Marketing Director at Volleyball World, and Ms. Kerstin, Chair of the Billie Jean King Cup (tennis)—and held a lunch meeting followed by a presentation session.

福岡県におけるスポーツ振興の現在地と未来について、福岡県スポーツ推進基金の中平専務理事によるプレゼンテーションが行われました。独自のアスリート育成システム「タレント発掘事業」と、国際大会における先進的な環境への取り組みについてプレゼンテーションを実施し、福岡で開催されたバレーボールネーションズリーグ（VNL2024）やワールドスケートボードツアー（WST2025）の実例を紹介。
単なる大会開催にとどまらず、運営におけるカーボンオフセットやフードロス対策など、具体的なSDGsアクションの実践例が語られ、次世代選手の育成と環境に配慮した「持続可能なスポーツ文化」を福岡から発信していくビジョンが共有されました。
A presentation was delivered by Mr. Nakahira, Executive Director of the Fukuoka Prefecture Sports Promotion Fund, on the current landscape and future outlook of sports promotion in Fukuoka Prefecture.The session covered Fukuoka’s unique athlete development system—the Talent Identification Program—as well as its forward-looking efforts to create advanced environments for international sporting events. Practical examples were introduced, including the Volleyball Nations League (VNL 2024) held in Fukuoka and the World Skateboarding Tour (WST 2025).
Beyond simply hosting events, the presentation also highlighted concrete examples of SDGs actions in event operations, such as carbon offset initiatives and measures to reduce food loss. A shared vision was presented: to develop next-generation athletes and to communicate from Fukuoka a “sustainable sports culture” that is mindful of the environment.

女子テニスの国別対抗戦「ビリー・ジーン・キング・カップ（以下、BJKカップ）」の会長によるプレゼンテーションが行われました。BJKカップは、国際テニス連盟（ITF）と、MLB・ロサンゼルス・ドジャースのオーナーグループであるTWGによるジョイントベンチャーとして運営されています。今回のプレゼンテーションでは、単なるスポーツ大会の枠を超えた社会的意義や、日本との連携への期待について熱く語られました。
A presentation was given by Ms. Kerstin, Chair of the Billie Jean King Cup (BJK Cup), the international women’s national team competition in tennis.
The BJK Cup is operated as a joint venture between the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and TWG, the ownership group of MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers. In this presentation, the Chair spoke passionately about the Cup’s social significance beyond being “just” a sporting event, and about expectations for collaboration with Japan.
■「個人」から「チーム」へ、そしてコミュニティへ
テニスは本来、個人競技ですが、BJKカップは「チームとしてコミュニティを形成する特別な機会」と大会を位置づけています。国を背負う団体戦という環境は、普段の個人ツアーとは異なる化学反応を生み出し、個人成績では苦しんでいる選手が、チームのために爆発的な活躍を見せることも少なくありません。
大会のキーワードは「Louder, Brighter, Together（より大きく、より輝かしく、共に）」。観客も含めた一体感のある空間作りを目指しており、選手たちも「Brightest, Boldest, Most Unifying（最も輝き、最も大胆に、最も結束して）」というビジョンのもと、大会を作り上げています。競技としてのレベルも高く、過去3年間で世界トップ選手の75%が参加するなど、伝統と実力を兼ね備えた大会となっています（直近2年はイタリアが連覇）。
From “Individual” to “Team,” and then to Community
Tennis is fundamentally an individual sport, but the BJK Cup is positioned as a special opportunity to build a community through a team format.
The environment of a national team competition creates a different kind of chemistry from the usual individual tour; it is not uncommon for players who may be struggling with individual results to deliver breakout performances for the sake of their team.
The Cup’s keywords are “Louder, Brighter, Together” (louder, brighter, together). The event aims to create an immersive sense of unity that includes the audience. Players, too, are building the event around a vision of “Brightest, Boldest, Most Unifying.”
The level of competition is also extremely high: over the past three years, 75% of the world’s top players have participated, making it an event that combines tradition with elite performance (Italy have won the title in back-to-back years in the two most recent editions).

BJKカップが掲げる活動の3軸は、「インクルージョン（包摂）」「インスピレーション（感化）」「エンパワーメント（権限移譲）」。特に注目すべきは、男子の国別対抗戦「デビスカップ」と同額の賞金を提供している点です。これは、大会を通じて性別を問わず誰もが平等な社会を目指すという強い意志の表れです。また、「誰一人取り残さない」という理念のもと、プレーを望むすべての子供たちがラケットを握れる環境づくりに注力しており、ジュニア大会の開催など、次世代を巻き込んだ活動を積極的に展開しています。
Advancing Gender Equality and Passing the Torch to the Next Generation
The BJK Cup’s activities are built on three pillars: Inclusion, Inspiration, and Empowerment.Notably, the Cup provides the same prize money as the men’s national team competition, the Davis Cup—a clear expression of its strong commitment to building a society where everyone is treated equally, regardless of gender.In addition, under the philosophy of “leaving no one behind,” the Cup places emphasis on creating an environment where every child who wants to play can pick up a racket, actively expanding initiatives that engage the next generation, including hosting junior tournaments.
■日本開催への期待と可能性
質疑応答では、日本市場への高い関心が示されました。会長は「日本はポテンシャルのある国の一つ」と明言しています。特に福岡県の関係者から、強豪校でのジュニア大会開催に関する提案があった際には、ジュニア世代の育成はもちろん、将来的には「BJKカップ・ファイナル（決勝大会）」の開催協力についても前向きな姿勢が示されました。地域と連携し、世界最高峰の戦いが日本で見られる日が来るかもしれません。
Expectations and Potential for Hosting in Japan
During the Q&A, strong interest in the Japanese market was expressed. The Chair stated clearly that “Japan is one of the countries with great potential.”
In response to a proposal from stakeholders in Fukuoka regarding hosting junior tournaments at leading schools with strong programs, the Chair showed a positive stance—not only toward junior development, but also toward potential future cooperation to host the Billie Jean King Cup Finals. By working closely with local partners, it may one day be possible for fans in Japan to witness the world’s highest-level competition firsthand.
